GINGER IT UP

GINGER IT UP
I welcome you to the maiden edition of this segment where we will be shedding light on the things we are likely to meet in our crave for greatness also directing our spot light to some great and successful people in our society.
To start with, let me make it clear that every journey in life begins with a step. The one who decides to be stagnant in life without movement is as good as dead.
The path to greatness is like a ladder where each step you take counts. It is also as good as walking on a narrow, rough and slippery path filled with so many distractions. On this path, the moment you lose focus, you will slip off. Another thing to keep to heart is the fact that greatness only come to those who are greatness conscious.
Just as any good building must have a sound and solid foundation, for greatness to be achieved, there are some guidelines and rules to be followed. These guidelines have been seen to be the bedrock to the success great people from time enjoy. Stay cool as we run through some of these foundational tips.
·                First of all, you must have a DREAM you want to achieve per time. There is a saying that you cannot feature in a future you cannot picture. You have to create a picture of what you want to be in your mind. For you to achieve this, your scale of imagination must be very high  and wide. A man without a dream is as good as a blind man who wants to cross a busy road. Mind you, when in the process of getting a dream, never think a dream is too high to achieve.
·                 Also have it at the back of your mind that your dream must be specific and timed. Have a timeline for your dream. By this i mean that have a set time you wish to get this dream achieved and make sure your dream is realistic although it might seem nonsensical, pursue it any.
We will be talking about someone who had a                    great dream and following his dream, he became a great man celebrated all over the world. I am talking about Edwin c. Barnes. Barnes happened to be like every other ordinary person in the society. One day, he upgraded his dream to the level of the fact that he was going to do business with the great business mogul of the time Thomas A. Edison. At the thought of this,to him it was like a waste of imaginative time because he does not even have the money to transport himself from orange in new jersey to Edison’s office. But because he has been obsessed by his dream, he raised the money and transported himself there. On his way, he imagined himself standing before Edison and working  as a patner to the great inventor and business mogul. At his arrival at Edison’s laboratory, standing before the great inventor, he made his intention known. I  want us to take note of the fact that Barnes in the first place had a dream. Even it seemed at first that it could not be achieved, the pushing effect of the dream made his meeting with Edison a reality.
Before I continue with Barnes, you need to know that you must immerse yourself in your dream such that what ever you may be doing, the reality of your dream is all you see.

·                Thirdly, after having a dream as afore mentioned the next thing is for the dream to be pusued. In pursuing  your dream, you need to put in everything that will aid the accomplishment of such a dream. This ranges from education to apprenticeship. If what you hope to achieve requires you to go to a school where every thing that has to do with the dream would be taught, what are you waiting for? Go get an entrance form. If it requires you to read books, go ahead and read them. if it requires you to learn as apprentice, go ahead. In getting your dreams become reality, you need to get acquainted to everything that has to do with your dream. One thing we need to take to heart is that knowledge is like a magnet. Once it attract itself to you, it is permanently there. Nothing can take it away from you. Remember knowledge is power and every little thing you learn has a role to play in your life. Life is like a puzzle. It brings before challenges at various times. The knowledge you have per time determines how you deal with such challenges. So every opportunity you have to get knowledge grab it because it’s a lifetime asset no one can take away from you. In other words be versatile as regards your dream.
·                Another thing to take note of is that you must have PASSION for what you intend to achieve. When everything around you seems clumsy, what keeps you going is the passion you have for whatever you are doing. Remember that when the going gets tough, only the tough gets going. And what gets the tough going is the passion they have for whatever the tough time finds in their hands. Back to the Barnes’ story, after Barnes got to Edison’s office, after making his mind known to Edison, rather than getting a partnership, he only got himself a job in Edison’s office with a nominal wage doing work which was unimportant to Edison but very crucial to him because he saw it as avenue for Edison to see reasons to consider his request. From this we can clearly say that Barnes stuck to his dream. Even though it seemed as if his dream was cut short, his passion for seeing it come true made him view it as another opportunity. This vision was not cut short because even though it tarried, it was for an appointed time.
·                Next thing to take note of is the fact that every slight opportunity to act in line with our dream that comes our way to act in line with our dreams should be maximally utilized. Even though it might look elaborate and in fact it might not look like an opportunity, never let it go. Because the opportunity you see today, you might see no more. I want to believe this was also ringing in Barnes’ mind from time to time and that was why he was able to make the maximum use of the opportunity that came in disguise. While working in Edison’s office, Edison had just perfected a new office device called EDISON DICTATING MACHINE now known as EDIPHONE. At the production of this machine, Edison’s salesmen did have much interest to sell because they believed it would not be of much demand in the market. Barnes saw this as an avenue for him to actualize his dream of working in partnership with Edison. He showed interest in the sale of the machines. His interest changed his fortune because he sold so greatly that Edison gave him the contract of marketing and distribution of the machine all over the nation. Their partnership grew so strong that it grew the slogan ‘made by Edison and installed by Barnes. Their association grew so much that out of it, Barnes became very rich and influential. You can clearly see that every dream has the potential of being achieved in the presence of much passion and focus.
Just like the case of Edison, let’s pursue our dreams because there is nothing impossible in as much as it can be pictured.
Until next time when we shall be meeting to                          continue from where we stopped, if you don’t’t have a dream start dreaming. If you have a dream without the passion, ginger it up. If you have a dream coupled with a passion, don’t let it die. And if you already letting go, wait a little more because you might just be a step away from fulfilling it. Till we meet again, keep GINGERING IT UP.
